Arle Lommel<\/strong> is a Senior Analyst with CSA Research, where he focuses on language technology and translation quality. From 2012 through 2015 he was a senior consultant at the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI) in Berlin, Germany, where he worked on machine translation and language technology-oriented projects, with a focus on the integration of human and machine translation.<\/p>\n

A noted writer and speaker on localization and translation, he headed up standards development at the Localization Industry Standards Association (LISA) and later at the Globalization and Localization Association (GALA).<\/p>\n

He has a PhD from Indiana University and currently resides in Bloomington, Indiana.<\/td>\n

Panayota (Yota) Georgakopoulou<\/strong> holds a PhD in translation and subtitling and is a seasoned operations executive, currently serving as Senior Director, Research & Int\u2019l Development at Deluxe Distribution. She leads translation initiatives as well as research on language technologies and tools, and their application in subtitling.<\/p>\n

Starting off as a translator and subtitler, Yota taught translation and set up subtitling modules at two UK universities, and went on to manage a small subtitling company for several years.<\/p>\n

She has also served as external adviser and external examiner for postgraduate programs in audiovisual translation, and in the steering and advisory committees of international conferences.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
